# Boost Pendle LP Yield

The graph demonstrates the integration structure between Pendle Finance and its liquidity providers. Our core idea is to align liquidity providers and $PENDLE holders together to maximize incentives for all participants.

Liquidity providers, who provide liquidity to Pendle through Equilibria, can earn boosted rewards, even if they do not own any vePENDLE.

$PENDLE holders, on the other hand, can convert their tokens into $ePENDLE and stake them to earn rewards. $ePENDLE holders can also easily exit their position by swapping back to $PENDLE, providing flexibility and ease of use.


# For Pendle LPs

Equilibria offers a hassle-free option for users to earn boosted yields from Pendle Finance without having to stake their Pendle and worry about accruing vePENDLE.&#x20;

This is because liquidity providers (LPs) can take advantage of our ample vePENDLE supply for a boosted yield.


# For PENDLE holders

PENDLE holders can convert their tokens to ePENDLE, which can be traded and staked to earn a share of Equilibria's performance fees. The PENDLE tokens used to stake ePENDLE will accrue maximal vePENDLE, boosting the yield on Pendle.

ePENDLE stakers can earn a share of protocol performance fees, which is approximately 12.5% of Equilibria's revenue. These rewards are paid out in PENDLE and WETH.

## Pendle LP Reward Boost Mechanism (See “1” in the graph)

Pendle employs a Boosting reward mechanism similar to Curve, where users can lock PENDLE tokens to acquire vePENDLE. Based on the proportion of vePENDLE held and liquidity provided, users can potentially receive up to 2.5 times in boosted rewards.&#x20;

Due to the diverse sources of Pendle LP Rewards, both SY rewards and PENDLE incentives can be boosted, while the remaining rewards are compounded and accumulated within the liquidity pool without boost.

## Equilibria LP Reward Mechanism (See “2” in the graph)

Equilibria utilizes accumulated vePENDLE to boost the rewards for users who provide liquidity through Equilibria, enabling them to achieve higher returns.

For Pendle, all LPs on Equilibria are considered as a collective entity. Pendle calculates rewards based on Equilibria’s vePENDLE holdings and the TVL of the corresponding pool, on a per-second basis. However, since claiming rewards requires initiating transactions on the blockchain, Equilibria opportunistically collects the corresponding rewards from Pendle during events such as deposits and withdrawals.

Upon receiving rewards from Pendle, Equilibria allocates a majority of the rewards to LPs and a portion as protocol fees to other protocol participants (with the current distribution being 77.5% to LPs and 22.5% as protocol fees). The rewards allocated to LPs are transferred to the Streaming Payout Distributor of the corresponding pool, where they are distributed to all LPs based on time and the LP's proportionate TVL.&#x20;

Currently, rewards are distributed over a period of 7 days on a per-second basis. New rewards, combined with any remaining undistributed rewards, are then distributed at a new rate over another 7-day period from that time.&#x20;

To ensure a stable distribution rate, if the new distribution rate is lower than the existing rate, the Streaming Payout Distributor continues to accumulate rewards until the new rate surpasses the existing rate. This mechanism draws inspiration from the Convex and Aura algorithms, primarily aimed at preventing TVL sandwich attacks and achieving smoother, real-time continuous rewards.

The distribution of EQB incentives is determined based on the amount of PENDLE earned by Equilibria. When users claim their PENDLE rewards, EQB is automatically claimed to their wallets in proportion to the PENDLE earned at the time.

## Equilibria Fee Sharing Mechanism (See “3” in the graph)

Upon receiving rewards from Pendle, Equilibria allocates a portion as protocol fees and shares them among three participants: ePENDLE stakers, and the protocol treasury.

The protocol fees are first collected by each chain-specific Fee Collector. After collecting the fees, we adopt a [consolidated reporting approach](/mechanism/cross-chain#consolidated-reporting-fee-sharing) to combine the fees and then distribute them proportionally to the amount of ePENDLE and vlEQB across different chains. This is similar to how traditional conglomerates consolidate the revenues of different subsidiaries and allocate budgets based on specific circumstances. The benefit of this approach is that the APY of ePENDLE and vlEQB will remain chain-agnostic. Users can choose their preferred chain for usage without being concerned about varying APYs caused by separate operations on different chains.&#x20;

* Fees to ePENDLE are distributed every few days, following a similar logic and distribution method as LP rewards. This approach ensures smooth reward distribution and mitigates the risk of TVL sandwich attacks.&#x20;
* Fees to vlEQB are distributed on a weekly basis. Since vlEQB requires locking the original token, the protocol is safe from TVL sandwich attacks. The reward distribution for vlEQB is based on real-time vlEQB proportions.

## Other ePENDLE APY

Pendle distributes protocol revenue from YT fees to vePENDLE holders every 4-5 weeks. These fees are directly passed through to ePENDLE stakers, along with any other reward generated by vePENDLE.

ePENDLE stakers are entitled to receive EBQ incentives, which are determined by the amount of PENDLE they have earned, similar to the Equilibria LP Reward Mechanism. When they claim their PENDLE rewards, EQB is automatically claimed to their wallets in proportion to their earned PENDLE.

## vlEQB Voting APY

Every 4-5 weeks, Pendle distributes protocol revenue from swap fees to vePENDLE voters, depending on which pool they have been active. For example, vePENDLE holders who voted for pool GLP will receive all protocol revenue from the swap fees related to that pool.

In the case of Equilibria, the platform's vePENDLE voting is determined by vlEQB. Therefore, these rewards will be passed through to vlEQB holders who participate in the voting process.


# Protocol Fees From LPs

There is a 22.5% fee on all boosted LP yield generated through Equilibria. The updated protocol fee structure is as follows:

* 12.5% to ePENDLE stakers;
* 2.5% to vePENDLE lock, ePENDLE liquidity, or buyback, depending on strategic needs;
* 7.5% to treasury
  * 30% to protocol growth: dedicated to strategic growth initiatives including bribe income growth, vePENDLE growth, cross-protocol campaigns, content creation, SEO optimization, and event marketing.
  * 50% to protocol development: covering essential operating expenses for extending the cash runway
  * 20% to protocol security: regular audits and subscriptions to monitoring tools and services.

Equilibria has passed [EIP #1 ](https://snapshot.org/#/equilibriafi.eth/proposal/0x763546e4a638a661f3054049625c8007fed66efe388881f93c14e9404d887afb)that proposed to adjust the protocol fee structure for ePENDLE buyback program.

There is a 22.5% total fee on all PENDLE revenue generated on Equilibria. The updated protocol fee structure is as follows:

* 12.5% to ePENDLE stakers;
* 5% to vlEQB holders;
* 5% to buy back ePENDLE and bribe vlEQB holders.

The total fee has a hard-coded cap of 35%.

* 8%-20% to ePENDLE stakers.
* 0-10% to vlEQB holders.
* 0-5% to Treasury.


# Reward for Pendle LPs

Pendle LPs can receive boosted reward via depositing through Equilibria to Pendle Finance:

1. **Boosted reward from Pendle Finance** which includes Swap fees, SY rewards, PENDLE incentives and underlying assets reward.
2. **EQB and xEQB reward** will emit with PENDLE token earned:
   1. &#x20;EQB and xEQB emission ratio was 25% and 75%
   2. After [EIP-6](https://snapshot.box/#/s:eips.equilibria-xeqb.eth/proposal/0x3e20eb27f1e5cdd024418f204c00355329b2c9b9e2ef5ea4a7c9842ad144814b):
      1. EQB and xEQB emissions have been halted
3. Extra reward, any possible future reward for LPs.


# Rewards for ePENDLE Stakers

ePENDLE is a liquid wrapper of vePENDLE. (Please feel free to check here for [more info](https://docs.equilibria.fi/token/ependle) about ePENDLE). It can be staked to earn the following rewards:

1. **Fee/rewards generated on PENDLE** and shared with vePENDLE holders will be distribute to the ePENDLE stakers on Equilibria. These will be distributed every 4-5 weeks depending on when the fees are available on Pendle.
   1. After [EIP-6](https://snapshot.box/#/s:eips.equilibria-xeqb.eth/proposal/0x3e20eb27f1e5cdd024418f204c00355329b2c9b9e2ef5ea4a7c9842ad144814b):
      1. vePENDLE’s Vote Rewards 40% to ePENDLE stakers
      2. vePENDLE’s Base Rewards 80% to ePENDLE stakers
2. **Fee sharing on Equilibria.** Stakers are entitled to a share of [the total fee generated on Equilibria](https://docs.equilibria.fi/mechanism/fees-and-rewards-distribution/protocol-fees). Because we utilize [Consolidated Reports](https://docs.equilibria.fi/mechanism/cross-chain#consolidated-reporting-fee-sharing) to share these fees, they will be distributed every few days.
3. **EQB/xEQB rewards**, will be emitted depending on PENDLE tokens earned:
   1. As these rewards are related to PENDLE fees, they will be released according to the schedule detailed in point2 above.
   2. After [EIP-6](https://snapshot.box/#/s:eips.equilibria-xeqb.eth/proposal/0x3e20eb27f1e5cdd024418f204c00355329b2c9b9e2ef5ea4a7c9842ad144814b):
      1. EQB and xEQB emissions have been halted

# Rewards for EQB Holders

There are several advantages to interacting with the EQB/xEQB token, but all the rewards will be allocated to the vlEQB. Users can lock EQB to receive vlEQB.

1. **Fee sharing on Equilibria**. Holders will get a share of [the total fees generated on Equilibria](https://docs.equilibria.fi/mechanism/fees-and-rewards-distribution/protocol-fees):
   1. As we utilize the [Consolidated Reports](https://docs.equilibria.fi/mechanism/cross-chain#consolidated-reporting-fee-sharing) to distribute this fee, it will be released weekly.
   2. After [EIP-6](https://snapshot.box/#/s:eips.equilibria-xeqb.eth/proposal/0x3e20eb27f1e5cdd024418f204c00355329b2c9b9e2ef5ea4a7c9842ad144814b):
      1. EQB and xEQB emissions have been halted
2. **Vote rewards from Pendle**. Pendle will share swap fees with vePENDLE voters and this reward will be distributed to the vlEQB voters.

      1. vePENDLE’s Vote Rewards 60% to vlEQB voters
3. **Bribe rewards**. Protocols who want to have higher PENDLE emission will allocate bribes to buy the necessary votes, and this will in turn represent a continuous income flow for vlEQB.


# APY Calculation

There are several APYs on the front end. The APY for the ePENDLE stake and Pendle Boosted pools work in the same way as with Convex.

Every time our pool receives boosted rewards from Pendle Finance, the rewards will be distributed to different addresses, one for LP holders, one for ePENDLE stakers, one for vlEQB holders, etc.

The rewards for LP holders will be linearly distributed over 7 days.

This means there will be two types of APY - a current APY and a projected APY.

**Projected APY**

This is what we are currently showing on our UI. The yield percentage currently generated by the pool is based on several factors, including the current TVL, current Pendle Gauge boost active on a specific pool and rewards priced in USD.

If all parameters stay exactly the same for a few weeks (TVL, PENDLE boost, PENDLE price, EQB price, potential 3rd party incentives), the projected APY will eventually turn into the current APR. As that scenario is very unlikely to happen, projected APR should be taken with a grain of salt. All fees have already been already subtracted from this number.

**Current APY**

This is the current net yield percentage you will get on your LPs when you are in the pool. All fees have already been subtracted from this number. I.e. if you have 100k in a pool with 100% current APR, you'll be receiving \~274 USD worth of rewards per day.

This yield is based on all active harvests which have already been called and are being sent to to active participants in the pool over a 7 day period from the moment a harvest was called. When you join the pool, you will instantly receive this yield per block.

Because of this, the bootstrapping time will make the current APY (the real yield you receive) much smaller than the Projected APY (which is displayed on the UI right now). However, after 7 days your Current APY will be very similar to the Projected APY.


# Why use current APY calculation

All the LPs on Equilibria will benefit from the boosted PENDLE rewards powered by Equilibria’s vePENDLE holdings.

Pendle’s rewards disbursement contract will treat Equilibria’s vePENDLE holdings as one group and distribute rewards periodically. &#x20;

There are 2 ways that can trigger the claim of the rewards:

* Rewards are claimed automatically whenever there is a deposit or withdrawal happened in the corresponding pool;
* Rewards are claimed periodically by calling harvest API.

After claiming the rewards to Equilibria, there are 2 methods to distribute the rewards:

**Method 1. Distributed pro rata to LPs whenever Equilibria contract receives the reward**

**Method 2. Rewards are collected by a Streaming Payout Distributor that will distribute the rewards pro rata to LPs over a 7-day period.**

Here is an example to illustrate how the rewards are distributed.

Assuming that we have  $100,000 TVL contributed to Pendle and are entitled to receive $1,000 rewards. When the harvest API is triggered, the $1,000 rewards will be distributed pro rate to the $100,000 LPs. However, there is a deposit of $100,000 placed into the pool before the API is triggered and it increases the TVL to $200,000.&#x20;

How are the $1,000 rewards distributed under the above 2 methods.

**Method 1**

Now that our TVL reached $200,000, when the harvest API is triggered, the former $100,000 LPs will be entitled to receive only 50% of the pool rewards, which is $500. The remaining $500 will be “robbed” by the latter $100,000 LPs. This is similar to “sandwich attack” in a way that an LP back-runs other LPs to pocket the pool rewards.

Can we calculate the pool share by taking into consideration their deposit amounts & tenor then distribute the rewards before the deposit triggered the claims? To do this, we need to calculate the pool share every time the pool TVL changes, which will incur extra on-chain events in addition to the deposit or withdrawal, resulting in high gas cost.&#x20;

In short words, Method 1 increases the risk of:

* LP sandwich attack
* Inconsistent APY
* High gas cost

**Method 2**

Every time rewards are claimed from Pendle through either deposit/withdrawal function or through the harvest API, the rewards are added to the Streaming Payout Distributor which then distributes these rewards pro rata to LPs over 7 days at 1-second intervals.

When the rewards stored at the Distributor increase, the rewards distribution rate (as in “Current APY”) will change accordingly. That is why when a new LP makes a deposit to the pool, he will see the APY displayed (as shown in “Projected APY”) updated but his real APY will follow the rewards distribution rate. After a period of time, his real APY will eventually turn into the Projected APY.

With Method 2, we avoid calculating and distributing rewards for every deposit/withdrawal event. If a sandwich attacker makes a large deposit to the pool, he needs to keep the liquidity at the pool for 7 days in order to realize the Projected APY. &#x20;

**Equilibria currently implements Method 2 for rewards distribution.**&#x20;


# Vote and Bribes

vlEQB (See [how to get the vlEQB](/token/eqb/vleqb)) is available on both Arbitrum and Ethereum. We enable users to vote on multi chains. The votes will be merged to control the vePENDLE Equilibria owned in Pendle's Gauge Voting system. Participating in the Gauge Voting can earn a vote reward from Pendle and potential bribe reward.

#### Vote

When you have vlEQB either at Arbitrum or Ethereum, you can visit and vote at Equilibria Snapshot \[Epoch #xx] Weekly Pendle Gauge Vote. The official snapshot page is: <https://snapshot.org/#/equilibriafi.eth>

Each vote epoch start from Monday 6AM UTC to Wednesday 6AM UTC. Then the team will use the result to vote at Pendle. If you want to join this Epoch, you should lock your EQB before the previous Thursday.

The vote reward from Pendle will be claimed back and distributed every 4-5 weeks paid in ETH. The voted vlEQB holders can come back to Equilibria Vote Page to claim the reward.

#### Bribes

Protocols who have liquidity on Pendle Finance are very keen to buy votes from Equlibria. By doing this, they can get more PENDLE emission on their liquidity. So there will be very promising bribes reward for all the vlEQB holders.

After votes on Snapshot, the bribe reward will be distributed. The voters can claim their bribes at Equilibria website.

Here is an exmaple to explain:

&#x20;if there are 1,000 vlEQB in the market and Equilibria has 50,000 vePENDLE, and four pools are available for voting with bribe rewards of $1, $2, $5, and $10 for every 100 vePENDLE voted one day, then 500 vlEQB are voted, with 100 votes each for three pools and one for 200 votes. This will control the 50,000 vePENDLE owned by PENDLE to vote on Pendle with 10,000, 10,000, 10,000, and 20,000 votes, respectively.

For each EQB, the voters will earn $1, $2, $5, and $10 per day, respectively. This will help the EQB token to earn more rewards. Equilibria will charge a 4.5% fee for every bribe reward, and a 0.5% fee for the caller who claims the voting reward from Pendle.

Update (17th July):

Equilibria starts charging a 5% fee on all bribe rewards starting from week #111, the week of July 21st, 2025.


# Cross Chain

Our cross-chain infrastructure architecture adopts a hub-and-spoke model with Ethereum as the main chain and other chains serving as side chains. All message passing is aggregated on the main chain, which then performs computations and distributes the results to the respective side chains. This approach ensures data consistency between the chains and delegates all computational processes to the more secure Ethereum network.

Initially, we will follow Pendle's footsteps and deploy on Ethereum and Arbitrum. To address the high cost of participating in PENDLE votes, we have optimized the voting functionality of EQB and deployed it on multiple chains. This way, if users do not want to accept the high costs associated with the mainnet, they can choose to vote on Arbitrum.

Moreover, to ensure the unity of the token economy, we have implemented a deflation mechanism that synchronizes across all chains.

All the cross-chain features are built on top of Layerzero.

#### Consolidated Reporting Fee Sharing

Protocol fees will be generated across multiple chains, but we believe that a multi-chain ecosystem should not operate independently. Instead, it should function as a unified entity with shared token mechanisms and fees. This approach allows users to freely choose the chain they prefer to use. Unlike deploying on individual chains separately, where fee calculations may differ, we employ a consolidated reporting method to calculate the fees generated by each chain.&#x20;

Then, based on the proportion of ePENDLE held on each chain, their respective fees are determined. After calculation, rewards are distributed to each chain. In cases where time discrepancies occur due to bridges, we will utilize reserve funds to facilitate the timely disbursement of rewards.

# EQB

## **Introduction**

EQB is the name of the Equilibria Finance governance token. The total supply is 100,000,000 and most of it will be distributed to protocol participants. (For more details, please see our[ Tokenomics](https://docs.equilibria.fi/token/eqb/tokenomics))

There are multiple use cases for EQB:

* Participate in the governance
* Votes to earn bribe rewards
* Other use cases can be found - or will be developed - in the EQB ecosystem

With a total supply of 100,000,000 tokens, Equilibria's token allocation and vesting schedule offer a fair and balanced distribution, ensuring the alignment of incentives among all stakeholders. We have done our best to uphold the following principles when designing the tokenomics:

### Autonomy

EQB tokens will be distributed over multiple years according to a carefully thought-out curve to promote long-term TVL growth for both Equilibria and Pendle, through the accumulation of voting power. This will increase the utility of vlEQB as a governance token.

### Decentralization

To create a community-first approach for EQB, the majority of tokens will be distributed to the community, with only a small amount allocated to venture capitalists to cover initial costs. This will promote decentralization and ensure that the community has a significant stake in the governance of EQB.

### Early Adoption Bonus

We believe in rewarding early supporters and active governance participants who lock and utilize EQB tokens in governance. The goal is to create a culture of long-term alignment by incentivizing community members to lock EQB into vlEQB, thereby increasing their voting power.

### Performance-Driven

The token distribution for core contributors is designed to align their incentives with the success of Equilibria. Under this model, the amount of tokens that contributors receive is tied to the protocol's performance, measured by the total amount of PENDLE earned on Equilibria. As this metric increases, so does the amount of token emission for contributors. This way, we can ensure that contributors remain fully engaged and focused on delivering the best possible outcomes for the protocol and its community.

**Bootstrapping Incentives(2% of total supply):**

To bootstrap the whole platform and incentivize the early participants of PENDLE to join Equilibria, we offer attractive rewards. Users have the option to claim rewards directly to their wallets, subject to a 40% penalty, or choose to lock their tokens for more than six months to receive the full amount. This mechanism ensures active participation and enhances the stability of the ecosystem. This allocation constitutes 2% of the total token supply.

**Pendle LP Incentives(45% of total supply):**

Equilibria rewards users who stake Pendle LP tokens on our platform. The emissions will be distributed pro rata based on the amount of PENDLE received. This allocation, accounting for 45% of the total token supply, follows a deflation model, ensuring a sustainable emission mechanism that aligns with the growth of the protocol. The initial emission will be comprised of 25% EQB and 75% xEQB.

For every 1,000,000 EQB tokens minted, a deflation factor of 0.95 is applied, effectively reducing the total supply.

**Liquidity Mining(10% of total supply):**

To promote liquidity and provide incentives for users, Equilibria will allocate 10% of the total token supply for liquidity mining such as EQB, ePENDLE liquidity. The rewards will be emitted on a weekly basis, with a deflation rate of 1.1%. The emitted tokens will be securely stored in a multi-signature (multi-sig) wallet, ensuring a transparent and accountable approach to their management. Decisions on how to utilize these tokens will be made collectively by the Equilibria community. This approach encourages active participation and ensures the availability of liquidity within the ecosystem.

**Equilibria Treasury(14.5% of Total supply):**

The Equilibria Treasury plays a vital role in community-driven initiatives and the long-term sustainability of the protocol. It consists of protocol-owned liquidity that can be used to receive future investment, develop strategic partnerships with other protocols, etc.

Initially, only 30% of the treasury will be unlocked, followed by linear vesting over a two-year period. This allocation constitutes 14.5% of the total token supply, providing the community with resources to support and enhance the ecosystem.

**Team/Advisors(16.5% of the Total Supply):**

Equilibria recognizes the valuable contributions of its team and advisors. To align their incentives with the project's success, this allocation follows an innovative Performance Driven Model which has a three-month cliff.

After this time, the tokens emitted are tied to the percentage of TVL/PENDLE on Equilibria to Pendle, more TVL more EQB emitted. And it will be minted along with the EQB emission of Pendle LP Incentives and it’s capped by the ratio of those 2 sectors. Here are the full tiers for how this allocation works:

For example, if TVL reaches 40% of the Pendle TVL, it means there will be 40% of the PENDLE incentives earned from Equilibria. According to the tier mapping above, if there are 100 EQB minted with PENDLE reward on Equilibria, there will be 36.6 EQB going to the team.

Introduced by Camelot and GND, the escrowed version of the protocol native token, such as xGRAIL and xGND, offers a unique mechanism that promotes alignment between the protocol, token holders, and liquidity providers, effectively circumventing the pitfalls associated with mercenary capital commonly observed in decentralized exchanges (DEXs).

By providing a redemption process where xToken can be converted to the original token through vesting, xToken holders are incentivized to engage in long-term commitment to the protocol. xEQB serves the purpose of aligning the goals of Equilibria with the token holders and liquidity providers, mitigating the challenges posed by opportunistic capital often encountered in many DeFi protocols.

The xEQB token structure is designed to unlock the full potential of the token utilities. The conversion ratio between EQB and xEQB is set at a 1:1 ratio, meaning that 1 EQB is equivalent to 1 xEQB. Users have the flexibility to convert EQB into xEQB to access additional functionalities and benefits.

Redeeming xEQB back to EQB is also supported, with the conversion ratio determined by the duration of the redemption period. This conversion follows a linear relationship between the redemption time and the conversion ratio. For instance, if a user redeems 1 xEQB after 2 weeks, they will receive 0.5 EQB, while redeeming after 24 weeks will yield the full 1 EQB. The conversion ratio gradually increases over time within this range.

When converting xEQB to EQB at a ratio lower than 1:1, the excess EQB tokens will be transferred to an admin address and burned. This reduces the overall supply of EQB, contributing to the deflation of the token over time.

EQB emission will be combined with xEQB. The main goal is to incentivize long-term commitment and create a more stable and sustainable ecosystem for the protocol, token holders, and liquidity providers..

What you can expect from xEQB:

* More LSDFi integration based on xEQB platform.
* **Diverse fee-sharing sources**, including fees generated from Limit Orders on YT/PT trading, leverage trading on YT/PT, and leverage yield farming based on Pendle Pools.

# Convert/Redeem

Besides the EQB/xEQB emission, EQB can be converted to xEQB and xEQB can be redeemed as EQB.

**Converting EQB to xEQB**&#x20;

In addition to the normal emission of EQB, to unlock the full potential of EQB, the token can be converted into xEQB through a conversion process at a 1:1 exchange ratio.

**Redeeming xEQB as EQB**&#x20;

xEQB can be redeemed for EQB, with redemption periods ranging from 2 to 24 weeks. If you choose the 2-week redemption option, you will receive half the quantity of EQB after the 2-week lock-up period. For example, if you redeem 100 xEQB after 2 weeks, you will receive 50 EQB. If you choose the 24-week redemption option, you will receive the full amount of EQB.


# xEQB to vlEQB

You can choose to convert xEQB into vlEQB for any duration between 2 and 52 weeks.&#x20;

If you choose the 2-week option, your initial EQB base will be 0.5.&#x20;

For example, if you have 1 xEQB and choose to convert it into vlEQB for 2 weeks, your EQB base will be 0.5, resulting in a total vlEQB of 0.5 \* 2 = 1.&#x20;

If you choose a duration longer than 24 weeks, your initial EQB base will be 1, and the number of vlEQB will be equal to the number of xEQB multiplied by the number of weeks.

When you acquire vlEQB, you will have the voting power.


# Voting

By converting xEQB into vlEQB, you can vote and have a say on the PENDLE emissions and earn bribing rewards.

# vlEQB

Currently, you need to lock EQB/xEQB to vlEQB to acquire voting power.

The amount of vlEQB you can receive is correlated with the lock period which in turn varies from 1 to 52 weeks.

Assuming the lock period is w weeks, the formula to calculate vIEQB is:

*Receiving vlEQB = w \* EQB*

The amount of vlEQB is the weight for sharing the lock reward and voting power. It will decrease by 1 every week that passes. By the time it can be claimed, the vlEQB will decrease to 0. But users can extend the lock period anytime to re-achieve the maximal vlEQB.

Currently, weeks are calculated from Thursday at 00:00 UTC +0 to the following Wednesday at 23:59 UTC +0. If anyone locks their funds before Thursday at 00:00 UTC+0, they will have to wait for a bootstrapping period till Thursday. During the bootstrapping period, the vlEQB balance won't be updated with a new lock. This means the vlEQB will be ready after the bootstrapping period.

Here is an example to illustrate how this works.

*Bob locks 100 EQBs for 5 weeks, and Alice locks 10 EQBs for 50 weeks.*

*According to the formula above, Bob receives 5100 = 500 vlEQB while Alice receives 5010 = 500 vlEQB. If there is a $100 reward, they will receive $50 for each. Plus, they will have the same voting power.*

*If Bob has 500 vlEQB balance and locks another 300 EQB for 10 weeks on, let’s say, a Tuesday, he will only have 500 vlEQB balance before Thursday 00:00 UTC +0. After Thursday, he will have 400 + 30010 = 3400 vlEQB. Because 500 vlEQB has passed one week, it will decrease to 4100 = 400 vlEQB.*

A few key points:

* Every user can lock multiple times.
* The locks will be merged if they have the same expiry time.


# Deflation Mechanism

In addition to the overall tokenomics, we have implemented several deflationary mechanisms to reduce the overall token supply:

1. Buyback and burn: In the future, we will allocate a certain proportion of protocol fees for buyback purposes, followed by burning those tokens.
2. During the redemption of xEQB, if the redeemed amount of EQB is not the full amount, the remaining EQB will be burned. For example, if 100 xEQB is redeemed after 2 weeks, only 50 EQB will be received, and the remaining 50 EQB will be burned.


# ePENDLE

## Introduction

* If a user converts PENDLE on Equilibria, he/she will receive ePENDLE and PENDLE will be locked as long as possible on Pendle Finance to acquire maximal vePENDLE.
* ePENDLE is a tokenized version of vePENDLE. Users will get ePENDLE at a 1:1 rate with PENDLE converted.

* **ePENDLE can be staked to earn the extra yield from:**
  * Fees generated from vePENDLE which Equilibria owns, paid out as ETH;

In this phase, we will bridge the EQB token from Ethereum Mainnet to BNB Smart Chain (BSC).

**Step 1** - Switch to the Ethereum network in your wallet. Please go to <https://www.portalbridge.com/>

**Step 2** - Select Ethereum on the "*From*" section.

**Step 3** - Select Binance Smart Chain (BSC) One on the "*Target*" section.

**Step 4** - Please click “Connect” and approve on wallet.

**Step 5** - Paste the EQB (Ethereum) contract address that we shared above into the “Select A Token > Search name or paste address” section.

Your transaction will appear like this before confirmation:

**Step 6** - Then click on the "*Next*" button and confirm the network switching on your wallet.

Portal Bridge (Wormhole) will automatically transfer you to the BNB Chain. After the transition, you will see this screen.

**Step 7** - Proceed with the process by clicking the 'Next' button. At this stage, your wallet will switch back to the Ethereum Mainnet. Afterward, you will need to approve spending for the EQB token in your wallet. You can either approve with the 'Default' option for the default amount or set a custom value. If you grant approval for a specific amount, you will need to provide approval again for higher amounts in future bridge transactions.

**Step 8** - Once the spending approval is granted, you are now ready for the transfer process. You can initiate the bridging by clicking the "TRANSFER" button.

**Step 9** - This pop-up shows you a summary of the transaction you are about to perform. Please review it again, and when you are certain there are no errors or omissions, click the "CONFIRM" button. Then, proceed with the final confirmation on your wallet.

**Step 10** - The bridging process will begin after wallet confirmation. The bridging takes approximately 15 minutes. During this time, you will see the following screen on your device:

# Risk Mitigation

Although Equilibria has taken a multitude of safety precautions and the protocols have been audited, participating in DeFi comes with certain risks.

Below are some potential risks and how Equilibria try to mitigate those risks. Please be aware that the list is not exhaustive and more vulnerabilities may be present no matter the efforts made to counter them.

## Potential Risks on Pendle Finance:

Risk:&#x20;

* As mentioned multiple times, although all the teams are aware of the importance of security and take actions towards keeping the protocols as safe as possible, issues may still exist, even on Pendle Finance.

Mitigation:&#x20;

* Equilibria has an emergency function which is controlled by a multi-sig address. The function is designed to stop all the features of the protocol and try to withdraw the assets from Pendle in an emergency situation.

## Price Volatility of ePENDLE &#x20;

Risk:

* After PENDLE is converted on Equilibria, there are two ways to deal with the ePENDLE token received. Stake to earn more and swap back to PENDLE on a DEX. Under normal, rational market conditions, the ePENDLE will trade at a little bit higher price than PENDLE because ePENDLE allows users to you to earn more. However, extreme situations may arise, leading to a de-peg of PENDLE/ePENDLE. The ePENDLE price may then be much lower or higher than PENDLE.

Mitigation:

* Equilibria believes the market will finally find the right price, so Equilibria will educate users about the PENDLE/ePENDLE and encourage arbitrage between PENDLE/ePENDLE.

## Smart Contract

Risk:&#x20;

* While Equilibria smart contracts have been audited by 3rd party firms, they could theoretically have vulnerabilities.

Mitigation:&#x20;

* Having smart contracts audited by multiple professional 3rd party firms decreases vulnerabilities.&#x20;
* A bug bounty program will provide incentives for people to look for vulnerabilities in the Equilibria live code to filter out any remaining issues.


# Security Monitoring

To strengthen the security framework of the Equilibria protocol, we've partnered with Hypernative—a real-time threat detection and automated defense platform for Web3. With Hypernative, Equilibria gains active protection against cyber-attacks, continuous monitoring across smart contracts, wallets, and protocol layers, and instant alerts for any detected risks.

**Key Security Mechanisms**

* **Critical Function Call Monitoring**\
  Continuously tracks the frequency of core function calls in key contracts such as pendleProxy and pendleBooster across all supported chains. Any abnormal surge (e.g., bot activity) will immediately trigger an alert.
* **Ownership Change Alerts**\
  Real-time detection of ownership changes in all core Equilibria contracts, effectively preventing unauthorized takeovers and governance attacks.
* **Flash Loan Detection**\
  Comprehensive monitoring of flash loan usage in major Equilibria contracts. If a transaction involves a flash loan, the system will instantly issue an alert to help mitigate potential threats.
* **ePENDLE Minting Security**\
  Strictly supervises the minting process of ePENDLE to ensure every issuance is euough backed by PENDLE. If the minting ratio is abnormal, the system will immediately alert, preventing unauthorized or excessive minting and protecting the protocol from dilution or abuse.
* **Large Transaction Monitoring**\
  Any single deposit or withdrawal of $100,000 or more will automatically trigger an alert, enabling rapid identification and response to abnormal fund movements and preventing abuse or attacks.
* **Reward Claim & Whitelist Enforcement**\
  Any single reward claim exceeding $10,000 will be closely scrutinized. If the claimed reward token is not on the whitelist, the system will immediately alert to prevent unauthorized or malicious distributions.
* **New Pool Deployment Controls**\
  The creation of new Pendle pools is strictly regulated. If deployed by an entity other than the official Pendle Deployer, the system will immediately notify administrators and unverified pools will not be allowed into Equilibria.
* **Market Balance Consistency & Auto-Pause**\
  The protocol enforces a strict 1:1 match between the PENDLE market balance in pendleProxy and the total supply in RewardPool. Any discrepancy will trigger an alert and can automatically pause contracts to prevent exploitation.
* **Multisig Wallet Monitoring**\
  Real-time monitoring of all multisig wallet transaction initiations to prevent any unexpected or unauthorized actions, adding an extra layer of security for the protocol.

These automated security mechanisms powered by Hypernative provide professional, robust, and real-time protection for Equilibria and its users, ensuring the protocol remains secure and stable at all times.


# Multi-Sig & Timelock

We have adopted a proxy-based approach to implement contracts to prevent any unexpected issues from affecting our platform.&#x20;

To enhance security, all upgrade permissions of the contract are under the control of a timelock governed by a 3/5 multi-sig held by Equilibria core contributors, as well as members of Incuba Alpha Capital, GBV Capital, and Pendle Finance.&#x20;

Any contract upgrade undergoes comprehensive testing, auditing, and verification from the multi-sig signers. Following this process, an upgrade is made by the team, and the multi-sig signer proposes the upgrade with a 24-hour timelock. During the 24 hours, users can decide to stay or leave. After 24 hours, the upgrade will be effective on-chain. This approach was deemed necessary due to the many examples of mistakes leading to severe consequences for Web3 projects.&#x20;

Consider, for instance, the case of Aku Dreams, which recently ended up forever locking $34M ETH in their contract. Should something similar happen with Equilibria, we could still upgrade the contract - albeit through a strict process - and allow the users to retrieve their assets.
